Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times
Matthew 18:22

This message today is a result of an email question I received yesterday. A person was wanting some advise regarding a situation with their spouse. It seems as if the spouse had a history with addiction problems. The spouse is now in counseling and wor

“So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.” Matthew 6:34

We spend a lot of time worrying about tomorrow. We worry about the “what ifs” and the “if only” situations in life. Every day life brings with it a lot of circumstances we cannot change. These are called “circumstances beyond our control.” They include things like being stuck in traffic a

To You, O Lord, I pray. Don’t fail me, Lord, for I am trusting you. Don’t let my enemies succeed. Don’t give them victory over me. None of those who have faith in God will ever be disgraced for trusting him. But all who harm the innocent shall be defeated. Psalm 25:1-3

There are times when some of us have felt that there was no power on the face of the earth, great enough to deliver us from the terrible circumstances we have fallen into. In the verses above, how

In whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us. Nehemiah 4:20

The book of Nehemiah, in the old testament of the bible, is the story of a man with a burden to rebuild the walls surrounding Jerusalem. People came together at that time for a common purpose and they worked and prayed as one until the wall was finally completed.

While trying to rebuild the wall one enemy after another came against the effort. It would have been easy to give up

Moses, my servant is dead. So now arise ,go over this Jordan, you and all the people, into the land which I am giving to them, the Israelites. Joshua 1:2

According to the law the Israelites were given 30 days to mourn for Moses. After those 30 days ended the Lord spoke to Joshua and told him that he needed to move on. Joshua may not have felt ready to take on the responsibilities of Moses but he had to obey God and move forward.

I believe that someone reading this today needs to take a go

I lift up my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1,2

Due to my dysfunctional behavior, my early adult years were full of drama. I surrounded myself with friends whose live were full of drama. It would seem that I would go from one crisis to another in my life. I was always on the phone calling friends, whose lives were in chaos also, seeking advise.

The dysfunction began to come to an end,

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Ephesians 6:7

Are you worried constantly about being laid off in this environment? Do you stay up nights wondering about job security or getting the next promotion? Lots of folks toss and turn for hours obsessing over job security, something said to them at work, and the people they work with.

I learned, during the last recession, that in order to keep from getting laid off I was
