Decided to watch American Idol last night. My friend, Bryan Walker, a Sevierville city cop, was on the program. He auditioned in Atlanta and did a great job. He made it through to Hollywood so I was excited for him. I have known him and his family for years. His father is David Walker, he sang tenor with several Gospel Quartets. It snowed this past weekend in Knoxville. Of course I was in Oklahoma while it was pouring the snow. I watched it on CNN and was sad that I wasn't at home to see the snow fall in person. I went back to Vanderbilt voice clinic this week to see my doctor, the first time since the surgery. They scoped my vocal cords again and found that the swelling from the procedure hadn’t diminished as quickly as they originally thought it would. Last Tuesday, I had an injection of collagen into my left vocal cord. I know, I know, I had told people it was Botox but that's what I was told so that's how I reported it. But it wasn't Botox, it was Collagen. As previously reported in the newsletter, I was diagnosed with Presbyphonia which means my left vocal cord is thinner than my right one.
