Lately I have been perturbed at a personal level concerning the state of my life and indeed the state of the Church.
I just felt we have grown cold, taken God for granted and religiously plod to church as a duty, with indifferent hearts, not expected anything beyond the normal!
So I asked myself," is this what it is supposed to be?"  "Should we just walk into Church or fellowship, recite a few lines, listen to another educative...

 Christmas has to go beyond Santa Claus crying ho, ho on a snowy day and the Yuletide bells ringing ding, aling, aling; it has to surpass the green pine trees, the holly and the Noels.
 
Christmas has to get us to the discovery of Jesus, the lover of our souls and our Great Redeemer who, constrained by love, stepped out of His eternal glorious riches to save a wretched world from the curse of sin!

 "For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, "Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!" and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup

The word "command" that Jesus used in the scripture above is an authoritative word. In other words Jesus gave us a precept, guidance, an instruction, a principle by which to live our lives- Love....

"For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life." John 3:16 AMP
 
Our perfect example, from which we can learn to walk in love, is God. The Father sending His Son to a sinful world portrays this love. We can learn...

There is an interesting local word that has been popularized by a Ugandan Poet called Boby Wine. That word is 'kiwani'. Kiwani means a fake, a forgery - something that is not the real thing.
