However, America in her most pristine greatness and in the hearts of her founding fathers was not birthed as a democracy. The form of government entrusted to the people of America was a REPUBLIC, not a democracy. Our forefathers had the opportunity in the birth of this nation to create it as a...

On Uncle Sams Plantation

on Uncle Sam's plantation ---Star Parker - Syndicated Columnist
Six years ago I wrote a book called Uncle Sam's Plantation . I wrote the book to tell my own story of what I saw living inside the welfare state and my own transformation out of it.
I said in that book that indeed there are two Americas -- a poor America on socialism and a wealthy America on capitalism.
I talked about government programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families...

Avoding legalism

What are some keys to avoiding a legalistic attitude without compromising your standards?
We received many positive responses to the article on the differences between holiness and legalism, so this question is a very good follow-up. Here are some important steps you can take.
1) Make every effort to keep (or regain) your first love. A heart aflame with love for Jesus will not quickly degenerate into legalism. Charles Finney had this to say about walking in our first love:
Tolerance

The Intolerance of Tolerance
Gregory Koukl
Probably no concept has more currency in our politically correct culture than the notion of tolerance. Unfortunately, one of America's noblest virtues has been so distorted it's become a vice.
There is a modern myth that holds that true tolerance consists of neutrality. It is one of the most entrenched assumptions of a society committed to relativism.
The tolerant person occupies neutral ground, a place of complete impartiality where each person is permitted to decide...
Fourfold Blessing
Posted Apr 9th 2009, 08:30 by ONMJG on Teaching/Education
The four-fold promises of Passover and of Resurrection:
1.] I will bring you out
2.] I will deliver you
3.] I will redeem you
4.] I will be your God
The blood, by FAITH, must yet be placed and remain on th doorposts and mantles of our lives.
The resurrected life REQUIRES our death, in HIM.
Tolerance is NOT a doctrine of faith:
Do NOT yoke yourselves together in a team with unbelievers. For how can righteousness and lawlessness [Torahlessness] be partners? What fellowship does light have...
