Dear Pastors and Leaders,
As leaders in the church of Knoxville, we have a very special opportunity to bless a congregation: Greater Warner Tabernacle AME Zion Church. You may remember the prayer requests Pastor Eric Leake has shared with us, and the great needs of this African-American congregation.
When we suggested to Eric that we have a PROJECTS DAY, he was...

Final Report on Ken

Posted Jun 29th 2003, 11:10 by Greater Knoxville Pastors' Prayer Network on Prayer

Dear Pastors and Leaders,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your prayers and support. At 6:45 pm this evening, Brother Ken went home to be with Jesus. The Doctors had called the family together this morning and told them his systems were shutting down, and that they would most likely have to make some hard decisions today. So after the arrival of the last family member from Alabama, they gathered around 5pm to celebrate his coronation.
What a glorious time! What...

Saturday Night Report on Ken Callaham

Posted Jun 28th 2003, 11:49 by Greater Knoxville Pastors' Prayer Network on Prayer

Dear Pastors and Leaders,
I spent over 7 hours at the hospital today with the Callaham family, along with Sam Polson, John Stone, Dave Trempe and many others who had been there before I arrived in the afternoon.
Ken is still on the ventilator and now on constant dialysis. He is on a "truckload" of meds to keep his blood pressure up. The physicians and nursing staff came in the afternoon to give a not-too-hopeful report. So we spent a couple of...

Ken is in Critical Condition: Pray!!

Posted Jun 27th 2003, 09:25 by Greater Knoxville Pastors' Prayer Network on Prayer

Dear Pastors and Leaders,
At 6:00 a.m., several of us were summoned by the Callaham family to come to the hospital. Ken was hemorrhaging, and they had to put him back on the ventilator. Pastors were allowed to go back one at a time to pray at the foot of the bed while they continued to work on him.
I just returned from the hospital (it's a bit after 9:00 a.m.), and the girls (Kay and Kim) have requested that we send...

Prayer Vigil at Park West Hospital

Posted Jun 27th 2003, 02:41 by Greater Knoxville Pastors' Prayer Network on Prayer

Dear Pastors and Leaders,
The Callaham children have asked Sam Polson and me to help arrange a prayer vigil for the next 24 hours. We need people to come to the CHAPEL (NOT the waiting room for ICU/CCU!) to pray.
Major organs have shut down in Ken's body. They are calling in an infection specialist, and awaiting further word from the renal specialist. The family needs great wisdom in knowing how to proceed from here. They obviously have hard decisions to make.
Please...

Today's News on Ken Callaham

Posted Jun 25th 2003, 04:55 by Greater Knoxville Pastors' Prayer Network on Prayer

Dear Pastors and Leaders,
I just spoke with Kim, Ken's daughter, before I go back to the hospital. I felt I needed to get this report out this afternoon to update everyone. The situation is serious for sure. Ken's fever is over 102, while his heart rate is stable. Breathing is labored, and the doctors aren't sure whether he should sit up or stay down. The real prayer request is for the TOXINS in his body. That number is now 6.6,...

Monday Morning Update on Ken Callaham

Posted Jun 23rd 2003, 10:04 by Greater Knoxville Pastors' Prayer Network on Prayer

Dear Pastors and Leaders,
Many are calling and e-mailing to receive information on Ken's condition over the weekend. I just talked with Kay, his daughter. Ken is still in the CCU unit. He is alert. A renal specialist has been called in, and there are problems with his kidneys. His medication has been changed, and there is improvement. They want to avoid temporary dialysis, so please pray the medicines will be effective. His heart rate is lower but still irregular.
The family...
